I’m a watercolour artist based in Finland, as well as an art and wellness teacher; an active member of the Nordic Watercolour Society, the Finnish Watercolour Society (FWS), and the SAA in the UK. In 2026, I was selected to represent Finland in the Nordic Watercolour Society.
My ART gallery presents a selection of my works that can be seen as a series, Harmony of the Natural Forces of the North. Northern nature inspires me not only through its beauty, but also through its powerful sense of balance. The force of storm winds, the movement of water, and the ever-changing atmosphere of the Nordic landscape are deeply mesmerizing.
Another favourite subject of mine is the birds that inhabit these northern regions, adapting and thriving despite challenging living conditions. Painting with watercolours is an exciting process that I often compare to an adventure. Nature remains in control, and I feel fortunate to be part of that process.
Most of my works have been painted along the west coast of Finland and Sweden. In a world dominated by noise and speed, my paintings offer a different rhythm: a rhythm of reflection, presence, and release. They invite the viewer to slow down, breathe, and immerse themselves in a space where brushstrokes become moments of silence and colours become pathways to inner peace.
I see the connection between art and wellness as a path towards holistic well-being. Each of my paintings is created not simply as an image, but as a practice: meditation made visible. Layer by layer, emotions are expressed and transformed through the painting process, leaving behind a sense of balance, clarity, and inner calm. Art and wellness complement each other beautifully, offering a creative, therapeutic, and holistic approach to physical, mental, and emotional well-being. Integrating art into wellness practices gives us an opportunity to express ourselves, process emotions, find joy, and enrich our quality of life.
For me, art, peace, and meditation are three different doors leading into the same room: presence. They guide us towards clarity and calm. When they meet, they can do more than simply quiet the mind; they can transform the way we perceive ourselves and the world around us.
Art is more than a finished product. It can be a form of meditation. When you pick up a brush or draw a line, you are not simply creating an image. The rhythm of the movement, the choice of colour, the sensation of water and pigment, and the texture of the paper all bring you into the present moment. The mind gradually becomes quieter, while a sense of peace grows in the space where judgment and inner noise once prevailed.
This is what I hope to share through my paintings: a moment of stillness, a connection with nature, and an invitation to find balance and peace within ourselves.
